TVXQ leader Yunho in Michael Jackson tribute concert in London

U-know Yunho, leader of K-pop boy band TVXQ, has been invited to perform at the tribute concert for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, at Wembley Stadium in London on June 8.

The concert titled “The Tribute: In Memory of Michael Jackson” is being organized by Jermaine Jackson, Michael’s brother.

Yunho is currently in Las Vegas to rehearse for the Korean leg of another tribute concert for Michael Jackson. The ‘“A Tribute’ Band from Michael Jackson’s “This is It Movie and U-Know Live” will be held on March 27 and 28 at the Yongsan War Memorial in Korea, Seoul.

For the London tribute, Yunho is said to be the only Asian artist to have been invited to perform in the concert, which was originally planned to be staged in Vienna last year but was postponed.

While the official website of the London concert has yet to announce the list of other performers, reports have it that Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder and Beyonce have been invited to perform.

People behind the tribute concert were reportedly impressed by Yunho’s talent.

Michael Jackson, 50, was preparing for his comeback concert when he died at his rented home in Los Angeles on June 25 last year. The “This is It” concert would have started in July last year. All tickets to his 50 concerts were already sold out.

The footage taken during rehearsals were turned into a movie, “Michael Jackson’s This is It.” An album of the same title was also released.
